5334 FL-90, Miami, FL 33185
Location Landmark
The staging area is located directly on the Tamiami Trail (U.S. 41), exactly one mile west of the Miccosukee Resort and Gaming. If you are traveling west from downtown Miami, the entrance signage will be visible on the right-hand side of the highway.
Arrival Logistics and Check-In Policy
Check-In Window: Arrive 15 to 20 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. Airboat tours depart exactly at the reservation time to maintain daily schedules.
On-Site Parking: Complimentary parking is available on-site. The parking lot accommodates standard cars, SUVs, rental passenger vans, and large tour buses or RVs.
Where to Go: After parking, follow the designated walking path to the main check-in kiosk located near the boat docks. Please present your digital confirmation email and a valid photo ID.
Driving Times and Coordinates from Regional Hubs
Traffic conditions across Greater Miami vary heavily by time of day. Please consult live traffic data before beginning your journey into the Everglades.
From Downtown Miami / Brickell: Approximately 45 minutes via SW 8th Street / Tamiami Trail.
From Miami International Airport (MIA): Approximately 35 minutes via FL-836 West and SW 8th Street.
From Fort Lauderdale: Approximately 60 minutes via I-75 South and Krome Avenue.
Rideshare Information (Uber and Lyft): If you utilize a rideshare service, schedule your return trip pick-up time before arriving. Cellular service is intermittent deep in the Everglades, making it difficult to request an on-demand ride at the conclusion of your tour.
Everglades Preparation: What to Wear and Bring
Apparel: Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing. Windbreakers or light jackets are highly recommended for early morning, sunset, or nighttime airboat tours.
Footwear: Closed-toe shoes or sneakers provide the best traction on the docks. Avoid loose sandals or flip-flops.
Sun and Insect Protection: Bring polarized sunglasses, a brimmed hat with a chin strap, and reef-safe sunscreen. Insect repellent is crucial for sunset tours, night tours, and python hunts.
Electronics Protection: Sudden rain showers or light boat spray can occur. Bring a waterproof bag or dry sleeve for cameras, smartphones, and video equipment.

What you will see on your Private Everglades Airboat Tour with Airboat Adventures Everglades — and what to expect
Wildlife up close
American alligators: See them sunning on the banks, slipping through marsh grass, or gliding past as your captain points out sizes, behaviors, and safety tips. Photo moments guaranteed.
Wading birds: Great blue herons, egrets, ibises, and roseate spoonbills hunt and preen in the shallows — a colorful, constantly changing bird show.
Raptors and songbirds: Look for ospreys, hawks, and occasional bald eagles soaring above, plus marsh sparrows and other smaller birds flitting through the sawgrass.
Turtles and fish: Spot basking turtles on logs and glimpses of largemouth bass, mullet, and gar beneath the water’s surface.
Occasional rarities: Depending on season and luck, you might see river otters, bobcats near the edge, or migratory waterfowl passing through.
Scenery — the River of Grass
Endless sawgrass marshes: Float across vast expanses of tall, rustling sawgrass that earned the Everglades its nickname.
Cypress domes and mangrove shorelines: Pass through contrasting ecosystems — shady cypress pockets and dense, winding mangrove tunnels.
Open water sloughs and winding channels: Enjoy smooth, reflective water sections that create striking photo ops, especially in golden hour light.
Panoramic skies: Wide-open Florida skies produce dramatic sunrises, fiery sunsets, and sweeping cloudscapes perfect for pictures.
Your private-boat experience
Personalized pace: Because your tour is private, the captain tailors stops and tempo to your group — linger for photos, wildlife watching, or a peaceful glide.
Up-close but safe: Expect clear safety briefings and responsible distances from wildlife. Captains know how to approach animals for great views without disturbing them.
Expert narration: Your captain shares natural history, fun facts, and local stories — expect playful, informative commentary about plants, animals, and Everglades culture.
Flexible routes: Weather and wildlife sightings determine the route; private tours allow detours to chase a sighting or explore a favorite spot.
Seasonal highlights and timing
Winter (Dec–Feb): Cooler temps, prime time for seeing large alligators and migratory birds concentrated in the marshes.
Spring (Mar–May): Nesting season for many birds; lush growth and active wildlife as water levels change.
Summer (Jun–Sep): Lush, green landscapes and abundant birdlife; afternoon rain showers are common. Early morning tours are best for cooler temps.
Fall (Oct–Nov): Transition season with comfortable weather and fewer crowds.
Practical expectations
Duration: Typical private tours run 60–90 minutes (customizable). Arrive 15–20 minutes early for check-in.
What to bring: Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, light layers, comfortable shoes, and a camera or phone with plenty of battery. Binoculars are a plus.
Weather and comfort: Tours run in most weather; light rain is no problem. In summer, bring water — complimentary water may be provided depending on booking. Dress for sun and potential wind on the boat.
Accessibility: Private tours can often accommodate families and many mobility needs — contact us in advance so we can prepare.
Safety: Life jackets are provided. Follow your captain’s instructions at all times. No feeding or approaching wildlife.
Memorable moments to expect
Surprise wildlife encounters: An alligator surfacing within view, a flash of pink from spoonbills, or a turtle popping its head up — these spontaneous moments make each tour unique.
